F.A.Q.
Can I power my home with the Endurance Turbine?
YES, the Endurance S250 is designed specifically to fulfill the power needs for the small to medium sized household in America, producing approximately 12,000 kwh to 15,000 kwh per year.
I live in a rural area in a large home; do you have a solution for me?
YES, the Endurance S343 is an enhanced version of our popular 5kw turbine, the S250. The S343 will produce 17,000 kwh to 22,000 kwh per year making it the perfect fir for medium to larger homes.
Can I expect my Endurance 5kw turbine to last for 15+ years?
YES, as with most positive categories in the distributed (small) wind industry, Endurance wind turbines will outlast the competition by 25%. In this case, you may get an additional 10 years of power production for your money. Life expectancy is a minimum of 30 years.
Does my Endurance Turbine come with a maintenance agreement?
YES, all Endurance Turbines come with a 5 year parts warranty and 5 year service-maintenance agreement.
This means that an Endurance Certified Service Technician will inspect your turbine once per year for the first 5 years, performing all necessary routine maintenance, as well as, replace any parts that show wear.
If I should have a non-routine mechanical problem, can I get a service tech on site in a reasonable time?
YES, we will have a Endurance Certified Service Technician on site in 1-3 days!
Will the installation of my turbine be performed by a qualified installer?
YES, our complete line of turbines must be installed by installation contractors who have been trained and certified by our Endurance engineers. This is critical to meet our standards for optimum performance and safety.
Do Endurance turbines have safety systems that would prevent power from being pushed onto the grid when the grid is down due to whether or other adverse conditions? What about the batteries?
YES, The Endurance brand of turbines have been engineered from the beginning to exceed safety standards in the small wind industry. Our machines have been engineered such that, when the grid is down, it will “lock up” to prevent the back-feeding of energy to the grid. This is done to protect the safety of your utility’s linesmen, as well as, the integrity of the grid. Our complete line of turbines is “grid-tied”. This means that each Endurance turbine connects directly into the power grid through your meter and functions without the need for maintenance intensive battery systems.
Are there specific items I should look for in terms of power production?
YES, the most important factors determining efficient power production are:
1. The “swept area” of the blades. The larger the blades, equals more opportunity to “harvest the wind”!
2. Efficient delivery of power from the turbine to the meter. The Endurance line of turbines do not use INVERTERS, thus saving the 25% power loss that is often associated with inverter based machines.
3. The ability to produce adequate power in low wind conditions. Endurance turbines have “cut-in” speeds as low as 6.7mph.
(Endurance sets the standard for the small turbine industry in each of these categories.)
I am a farmer/rancher with a large operation; do you have a turbine that might work for my business operations?
YES, The Endurance E3120, is currently our biggest turbine, and is often used for small commercial and farming/ranching operations. We have used these for irrigation, grain dryers, mechanical buildings, dairy operations, pig farms and horse facilities. The applications for this machine are incredibly diverse is the agriculture and livestock producers’ operations.
I function as a school board member in my community, is there a possibility that this could save our school some money?
YES, the E3120 is an excellent investment for school systems who want to insulate themselves against the rising cost of energy. In today’s dollars, with no adjustment for energy rate increases, the E3120 can save schools nearly $1 million dollars in expenditures over the lifetime of the machine.
If our school was interested in installing a turbine, do you have any resources that could help us educate our students about the value of renewable energy?
YES, we have partnered with a company who has developed an entire curriculum and various resource materials for specifically this purpose. We can even organize a special training event to teach your staff how to use the curriculum and materials most effectively.
Are there financing options available?
YES, from homeowners to businesses to municipalities BTI Wind Energy has partnered with some of the strongest financial entities to provide competitive financing. John Deere Credit, GNB Bank, Sunflower Bank and Farm Credit are a few of our finance partners.
Do you have someone who can help me understand the various grants and tax credits that I may qualify for?
YES, we employ BTI Wind Energy “Certified” Salespeople who have a basic knowledge of many incentives. Should you need more help than that, our BTI Wind Specialist with advanced knowledge of incentives and their application will be available to you.
